Spine

The spine is comprised of three sections: the cervical, lumbar and thoracic spine. These segments work in conjunction to provide balance, stability, and protection to the spinal cord. Injury or disease of any of these sections may result in pain or loss of mobility. Rehabilitation and correction of damaged spinal tissue can be achieved through a number of medical avenues. Prevention of injury and degeneration is effective in maintaining optimal spinal health throughout one’s lifetime. Therapeutic treatments such as injections, physical therapy, physiatry, and chiropractic medicine are also highly effective in recovering spinal health. They are particularly useful when applied in tandem with each other to achieve the specific needs and goals of every patient. In the event therapeutic and preventative medicine are not sufficient, surgical intervention may be necessary. It is important to remember that treatment continues after surgery, and many therapies can be used to accompany and enhance surgical results.
